Capcom Has A LEON Problem - Resident Evil 9 Requiem

Capcom just dropped a ton of new info on Resident Evil 9 during their latest Spotlight and the Creator’s Message #1 video, and I’ve got thoughts. From the visual style to the gameplay mechanics, character design to returning locations, there’s a lot going on here—some of it exciting, some of it… questionable. In this video, I break down everything we’ve learned so far, including the new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, the return to Raccoon City, and what Capcom means when they talk about “addictive fear.” I also give my take on the direction they’re taking the series, especially when it comes to classic characters like Leon and the justification for not using them more. There’s plenty to talk about when it comes to the shift in tone, gameplay flexibility (yes, we’re getting both third- and first-person), and the overall presentation Capcom is aiming for with their “Metal & Noir” aesthetic. Whether you’ve been with Resident Evil since the PS1 days or got pulled in with RE7, this one’s for you. Stick around—I’ve got some opinions you won’t want to miss. Thanks for watching! 😄 Enjoy this?
