Why You Should Care about the Videogame Strike

Whether you love playing your videogames, a casual player, or you just watch your kids play, the videogame strike involves everyone as AI Voice has its ups and downs for the future of human voice and the industry in general. These are some angles to look into regarding AI Voice in videogame production (in a nutshell): 1) THE STUDIO - Using AI Voice will save them time AND money as they intend to make production faster by cloning the voice actor's voice. 2) THE VOICE ACTOR - AI Voice will not entirely wipe out these professionals. Yes, the work will lessen, but there will be other work. What is being taken from them by using AI Voice is their revenue, but more importantly, their RIGHT to say "NO" for their voice to be cloned as the initial contract says that their voice "now belongs to the game". 3) THE GAMER/CONSUMER - Determining whether the acting you hear may be indistinguishable between AI Voice and Human Voice, but PAY for the product you get. If the studio is paying less in order to use AI Voice for the completion of the game, then why pay the same amount (or higher) for an aspect of the game that cost them less? Shouldn't you as the consumer be paying less as well? ===== This Videogame Strike needs to have a middle ground for both parties, but you as a 3rd person in this, should know why this is happening. #voiceover #voiceoverartist #voiceactor #videogame #sagaftrastrike
