Almost Cosplay

Some of the costumes I've devised for various occasions. In chronological order. It's a shame I don't have my pirate one! The Mad Hatter - This was my own version loosely based on the Mad Hatter from Tim Burtons version of Alice. It was intentioanlly differant because I didn't have the time or resources to go all out and make it exactly the same. Hat was made with a cardboard box, glue, scrapbooking paper, ribbon, fake leaf skeletons and feathers. Gloves were strips of left over material from when I took up some pants stitched up. The bowtie was a napkin with feathery wool in the middle attached to elastic, The jacket was $1 from vinnies (a thrift shop or op shop) with lace sewn on by myself. The Jacket decoration was just a pin cusion from a cheap sewing kit. The wig was from a $2 shop. I did my own make up but this is a "Reinactment" so it isn't quite as good as when I did it for real. It's a combination of facepaint and regular makeup. I actually mixed white face paint with clear mascara to create the white eyelashes. Hello Kitty - Thanks Frankie for your ideas! The ears were made from baby socks which I attached to a headband. I bought a cute white dress from vinnies and a blue top which i cut to fit over the dress nicely. The stockings were donated by a friend, I found a white skivvy and white gloves at vinnies. I found white hairspray at a chemist. The rest is make up which I did myself. Older Lady - I already had the top and skirt. I bought reading glasses from a $2 shop, I used grey eyeliner to create lines and wrinkles and the rest is the usual make up routine. Beatnik - I was told later this wasn't exactly a true representation but I thought I looked cool! It was by far the easiest. Red lipstick, my usual black eye makup, fake nails put on by a friend, a black skivvy and black tights. The beret was from Big W. I looked everywhere for a plain black one but could I find it? No! lol! Hope you like it.
