Rool's Last Stand ✒ GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME: If Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 received a handheld parallel version, then it's no big surprise that this was also done for Donkey Kong Country 3 with "Donkey Kong Land 3." The protagonists of the game are Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong. The story is largely the same, only the worlds and levels differ from the SNES version. The music of DKL3 is modeled after the soundtrack of Donkey Kong Country 3. Donkey Kong Country III was originally supposed to be titled The Race Against Time, but this idea was scrapped before release. DKL3 consists of six game worlds with a total of 36 levels and five different bosses. Each level features an enemy carrying the DK Coin. Our goal will be to complete the levels 100%, so we must find and defeat this enemy. But that's not all! The bonus barrels are also back. They are hidden throughout the levels and give the player various timed tasks, such as "Find the Coin" or "Defeat all enemies." We'll also collect all of these bonus coins to visit Baron K. Roolenstein's Lost World and overthrow him at the end. The game was released in Germany on October 30, 1997, for the Game Boy. A color version was also released in Japan on January 28, 2000, for the Game Boy Color. You can see this version in my review! The Japanese version sold an estimated 280,000 units. The black and white version sold 1.03 million units worldwide. Story: The island of Donkey Kong Country has been visited by numerous explorers since the discovery of the legendary Lost World. Donkey and Diddy Kong are among the first to want to visit the Lost World. Meanwhile, Dixie Kong looks after little Kiddy Kong.
