Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel were born in 1941 and grew up in Queens, New York, just three blocks apart. They attended the same schools from elementary through high school—Parsons Junior High and Forest Hills High School. Both were fascinated by music, listening to the radio and discovering rock and roll as it was emerging, especially the Everly Brothers. In 1956, they wrote their first song, "The Girl for Me," which Simon's father sent to the Library of Congress to register for copyright. With a shared passion for music, they created songs together and signed a record deal—all at the age of just 15. After graduating from college in 1963, they reunited as Simon & Garfunkel, and went on to become a world-famous duo with many hit songs. Their 1970 album, "Bridge over Troubled Water," became one of the best-selling albums in the world. Unfortunately, it was their final studio album. #simon #garfunkel #brigde #bridgeovertroubledwater #oldsong #oldmusic #oldies #nostalgia #nostalgicmusic
