Why Did Padme Have So Many Clothes? Why Did Padme Have So Many Clothes? During her reign as both Queen and Senator of Naboo, Padme had a vast wardrobe full of outfits. As Queen, Amidala wanted to reflect the traditions of Naboo, so she wore an embroidered gown with wider shoulders, which allowed her to hide her true feelings from others, such as senators. The Queen would also wear darker outfits, if the situation was more severe, and red markings on her face, called the scar of remembrance. As soon as Amidala became Senator, her clothing became more reserved, as she wanted more mobility, and she begun to wear more disguises, which gave greater security, in addition to her handmaidens who shared her clothing. As the clone wars continued, the theme of practicality continued, wearing thicker robes to hide her pregnancy, and later a harness to guard her back from the weight of her children.
