Day 1 – Jesus, the Son of God "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." — John 1:1, 14 Welcome to Day 1 of our devotional series on Jesus. Today, we focus on who Jesus is as God’s Son. Jesus Christ is not just a historical figure or a great teacher—He is the eternal Word, fully God, who existed with God from the beginning. Through Him, all things were created, and nothing came into being apart from Him. John 1:14 reminds us that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, showing God’s glory, grace, and truth. Matthew 16:16 highlights the revelation that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God—a truth that transforms our faith and anchors our hope. Colossians 1:15–17 emphasizes that Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the Creator and sustainer of everything in the universe. Everything exists through Him, and in Him, all things hold together. Hebrews 1:1–3 reveals that God has spoken to us fully in His Son. Jesus radiates God’s glory, perfectly represents His nature, and sustains all creation. Even in human form, He displayed divine authority, wisdom, and love. In John 20:28, Thomas’ exclamation, “My Lord and my God!” captures the response every believer should have when encountering Christ—recognizing Him as fully God and fully Lord. Understanding Jesus’ divine nature transforms our faith. It gives us confidence that He has authority over every circumstance, power to save, and wisdom to guide our lives. Jesus is not distant—He is present, active, and fully able to meet our needs as God’s Son. Reflection What does Jesus’ divine nature mean to your faith, your trust, and the way you live each day? Let us pray Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your Son, Jesus Christ, as fully God and fully Lord. Help me to deepen my faith in Him, trust His authority, and follow His example of love and truth. May I declare, like Thomas, that Jesus is my Lord and my God, and live in the light of this truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen. If this devotional has blessed you, don’t forget to subscribe for more daily devotionals. Like, comment, and share to encourage others in their walk with Christ.
