The limited overs leg of the English summer begins today and with it begins the era of a new captain. Harry Brook takes charge for the first time today since being named as the new white ball captain and he takes over a team that more or less mirrors that of his predecessor. England have reposed their faith in most of their players despite a torrid run in the 2025 Champions Trophy with Liam Livingstone being the only high profile player to be given the axe. Many of the English players have been parachuted from the IPL straight onto Birmingham for this limited overs series ahead of those all important Tests against India. The likes of Ben Duckett Joe Root and Harry Brook enjoyed their time in that one off Test against Zimbabwe and come into this series with some runs under their belt. Km Punk Live. West Indies stopped over at Ireland before this tour of England and were given a bit of a shock by Paul Stirling’s men. They were thrashed in the first ODI but came back strong after that to draw the series with the second game unfortunately being washed out after West Indies put on 352 on the board. Keacy Carty has been the man in form for the visitors. Heads into these ODIs with consecutive hundreds to his name. The likes of Matthew Forde and Justin Greaves also impressed against the Irish while the regulars like skipper Shai Hope Roston Chase and Brandon King would hope to step up now against England. It’s a nippy cloudy morning in Birmingham we’re not far from the start of the game.
