You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter in an area. 2. If a Pokemon faints it is considered dead and must be released. 3. Pokemon must be Nicknamed Additional Clauses Dupes Clause: If the first Pokemon you encounter is part of an evolution line you already have it does not count and you can catch the next Pokemon you encounter. Gift Clause: Gift Pokemon are considered bonus Pokemon and won't be counted as the encounter for the area they are received in.
