At the time of its publication it was one of the most successful games and achieved maximum scores in specialized magazines. The characters in the game are based on the popular belief that lemmings commit mass suicide in dangerous situations. The objective of the game is to save a certain number of lemmings in each level, for which there are eight different skills that can be distributed in a limited number to each lemming in order to reach the end of each level. Gameplay The game is divided into a number of levels. Each level can have one or more exits and one or more entrances, and consists of controlling units (the lemmings) by leading them through various obstacles (ravines, walls, mountains, etc.) and with the objective of reaching a final position. These units are capable of performing a number of actions, including building stairs, blocking the path of other lemmings, parachuting, etc. They also have the option of committing suicide in case it is impossible to finish the game due to having lost too many lemmings, because they cannot finish the level due to having used the available skills incorrectly, since they are almost never all available and can only be used a certain number of times (except in the first levels, which are an introduction to the game mechanics), when we need to destroy a building or area of the map or to eliminate the lemmings that cannot reach the end (as long as there are still lemmings on the map the level does not end). In case a lemming is not assigned any skill, it will walk ignoring any other lemming (except blockers) and falling off the map or changing direction when some obstacle prevents its path. Lemmings can die by falling from a great height, falling into water, lava or off the map or being captured by a trap. They will also die when they are given the ability to turn into a bomb. To successfully complete each level, a certain number of lemmings must be saved. To do so, the player has a limited number of abilities to use. There are eight abilities that can be used: "Climbers" can climb vertical walls; "Parachutists" survive falls from great heights by opening a kind of beach umbrella. There are three abilities that allow the lemming to create a tunnel sideways, vertically or diagonally, but always on terrain that allows it. "Builders" create 12-step stairs, so when they finish them, they must be given the ability again if they have not yet reached their goal or they will go back to walking like the other lemmings without an ability. "Blockers" prevent the rest of the lemmings from passing (they do not stop them, they continue walking in the opposite direction). Finally, there is the ability to turn into a bomb, as discussed above.1 The player can increase or decrease the speed of the lemmings or pause the game, and there is also the possibility of destroying all the lemmings when you want to retry the level because you have already lost more than the lemmings allowed in the level or when you want to eliminate the "blockers" (in order to finish the level or allow the passage of the remaining lemmings once you have prepared the ground with other lemmings to safely reach the exit). #lore #retrogaming #gameboy ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛ ️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛ ️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️ ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️ ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️ ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️ devil ~ icewind dale ~ baldur's gate ~ neverwinter nights ~ the elder scroll ~ morrowind ~ skyrim ~ god of war ~ rune ~ age of conan ~ lord of the rings ~ dungeons and dragons ~ divinity ~ warcraft ~ castlevania ~ dark souls ~ elden ring ~ bloodborne ~ dead space ~ the thing ~ outlast ~ doom ~ quake ~ unreal ~ thor ~ odin ~ loki ~ baldur ~ freya ~ jeremy soule ~ basil poledouris ~ matt uelmen ~ 4k ~ nvidia rtx ~ ps5 ~ xbox ~ pc gaming ~ games ~ gamer ~ rpg ~ mmorpg ~ mmo ~ soundtrack ~ soundscapes ~ ost ~ music ~ landscapes ~ legacy of kain ~ soulreaver
