Red Dead Redemption 2 - Virginia Opossum Location | Master Hunter 9 (RDR2)
Welcome to my Red Dead Redemption 2 - Virginia Opossum location guide. Simply find a Virginia Opossum using one of the locations provided, run up to it - at which point it will play dead or "possum" and then you can deliver a clean kill with the varmint rifle. The first location is by far the most reliable, but if by any chance you can't find one there - move onto the other locations provided and try your luck there. If you don't see any, reload your game and try again, or continue to read further below for more advice. This guide is designed for Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode, however the spawn locations have been confirmed to also work in Red Dead Online / RDO. If you have trouble getting a Opossum to spawn, I suggest setting up a camp a few clicks away from the spawn location and sleeping until the following day before riding back and trying again. If you hit bad RNG you may have to do this up to 5-10 times to get it to work for your desired purposes. Reloading your save and/or game can also be used to try and reset the animals in game. Be sure to explore a small radius of the surrounding area thoroughly before resetting and trying again as it's exact location varies depending on conditions. In my experience, hunting them in the early afternoon yields the best results. Also, be sure to clear out any legendary animals or random encounters in the area as they can mess with the spawns as well. Good luck!
