After 41 years, an Indian astronaut has returned to space! Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, part of the Axiom-4 (AX-4) mission, has completed an 18-day stay aboard the International Space Station. He safely undocked with the crew aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft and splashed down off the California coast. This historic mission, in collaboration with ISRO, NASA, SpaceX, and Axiom Space, marks a giant leap in India's human spaceflight ambitions. Shukla conducted over 60 scientific experiments, including ISRO-led research in microgravity, space agriculture, muscle regeneration, and mental well-being.
