Day 16 🎁 Jesus' last lessons to his disciples (read)

Good morning! We could say so much more, but I think we should wrap things up. Jesus then tells His disciples that the time will come when their sorrow will turn into joy. Another important passage I'd like to briefly discuss begins in verse 25. It's the part where Jesus tells them that He is now going to lay things bare. He tells them clearly that He is going to the Father, and He tells them again that they will be scattered and everything will become turbulent. But this time, He adds something very beautiful. He doesn't simply tell them, "Don't worry." At the beginning, Jesus did this: He said, "Things are going to get bad. This is going to happen. I'm telling you all this so you won't be sad. Protect your hearts. I will give you a peace that the world cannot give." But nothing seems to help. They are still sad. They are still worried. They haven't protected their hearts. Then He says something so powerful that I want to connect it to 1 John 5:4. Jesus says, “For in this unbelieving world you will experience difficulties and afflictions.” That’s the very last verse of chapter 16. And then He says, “But you must be courageous, for I have overcome the world!” Up to this point, Jesus had simply told them, “Don’t be troubled, protect your hearts, and be strong.” They should have done that long ago, but now Jesus gives them one of the most important golden keys He has ever given them. He says, “In the midst of the difficulties of this world, remember this: I have overcome the world.” I believe it’s 1 John 5:4 where John says, “This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” But you must be courageous! Jesus is trying to plant an important truth in their hearts: “You must learn to live in My victory, not in your own. Believing that I have overcome the world will give you victory over the world.” Paul recognized this when, amidst the difficulties, he says in Romans 8:37, “Yet in all these things”—which are nothing but difficulties—“we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Whatever you experience in this world, write this truth in your heart: The one who can overcome this world is not Reinhard, not Daniel, not you, not your pastor, not your friend—it is a person named Jesus Christ. If you do not learn to live in His victory, you will not have peace in this world, but will be full of unrest. You will do what the disciples did and run away when things get difficult. You will argue and try to be bigger than others. You will feel fear, frustration, and unrest. So, my dear friend, no matter what you're going through right now, take some time today, sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, and write on your heart the message that Jesus himself has overcome this world. He has dedicated this victory over the world to you. Jesus never said, "You will not have difficult times in this world." He said the opposite. He said, "In this world, you will have all these difficulties." But then He tells us to be of good cheer. How can you be of good cheer when you've just learned that you will have difficulties? Only when you understand that someone else has won the victory and dedicated it to you. Write this on your heart again and again. My victory in this world is in Christ. It is in Christ and only in Christ. This is truly good news that the world cannot change. Because the one who has won the victory does not change and never will. His victory will always be my victory until the end of time. Therefore, Jesus begins his teaching to his disciples with a very powerful message: “Always remember that everything is in Me. Even though I am departing, the Holy Spirit will remain in you and represent Me well. Stay close to Him, and you will always walk in victory.” I hope you enjoyed this series. Thank you for listening. We truly love you. That's why we do this. ---- Want to learn more about us?
