The JGH has broken the Canadian record for access to treatment for all types of cancer: The Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital has doubled the access to research protocols for individuals who have all types of cancer. These treatment protocols resulted in a level of effectiveness that was the highest ever recorded in Canada. At the JGH, we have recruited more than 10% of patients into clinical trials, which is significantly higher than the Canadian average of 5%. This has given many more patients access to new and promising treatments. We found that more experimental treatments proved effective than in previous years. These results are reflective of a very optimistic outlook in the fight against cancer.
