Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke 16:9-15 At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it is gone, they may welcome you into the eternal dwellings. Whoever is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much; He who is unjust in a very little is also unjust in much. So if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Now the Pharisees, who loved money, were listening to all this and were sneering at him. And he said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts.
