He Kept Running Through Fire | Medal of Honor

In June 1951 during the Korean War, Emory L. Bennett repeatedly exposed himself to intense enemy fire to rescue wounded soldiers pinned down on a battlefield swept by machine guns. Ignoring the danger, Bennett made multiple trips across open ground, dragging wounded men to safety while bullets tore through the area around him. Even after being wounded himself, he continued moving forward to help others. On his final attempt, Bennett was mortally wounded while trying to reach another fallen soldier. He died doing exactly what he had been doing the entire fight — saving lives under fire.
