I never imagined that someday I'd be sleeping at a Buddhist monastery in Bhutan with 100 monks. But that is one of the things we love most about traveling to every country. Meeting people from every country in the world from different cultures, beliefs and backgrounds has been so amazing. And today was one of those amazing days. The background noise is more than 100 monks doing a special type of throat-singing. (I've tried doing it and have no idea how they are so good at it! ) This is one of the coolest parts of traveling to every country. Almost every single day is a totally different experience that I never imagined getting to have. The monks started their morning prayer at 4am! But our guide told us we could join them at 6am. If you've been following our journey for a while now, you know that we're Christians and our faith in Jesus is the most important part of our life. We also believe that one of the coolest parts of travel is getting to learn from and share with people of all different cultures and religions. Even though we may have different beliefs, we have so much respect for people from different faiths. Over the past 8 years of travel we've been invited into churches, mosques, and temples and have been blessed to meet incredible people from all walks of life. The head of the monastery here in Bhutan was so kind to take time to tell us what it was like spending the majority of his life in a monastery. And seeing the dedication of the 100 student monks was amazing. As we travel, we love getting to share about our faith and learn more about what other people believe as well. With less than 10 countries in the world to visit, I would rank Bhutan as one of the most underrated countries in the world!
