Today's Catholic Mass Readings and Gospel Reflection – Wednesday, January 14, 2026 #TodayGospelReading #GospelReadingforToday #HolyMassReadings First Reading: 1 Samuel 3:1–10, 19–20 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 40:2, 5, 7–8, 8–9, 10 Gospel Reading: Mark 1:29–39 Wednesday of the First Week in Ordinary Time — Year A (Weekday Cycle II) Reflection: Today’s readings focus on attentiveness to God’s voice and dedication to His mission. In the First Reading, the young Samuel learns to recognize the call of the Lord and responds with openness and obedience. His simple words, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening,” express a heart ready to be formed by God. In the Gospel, Jesus moves from prayer to action, healing the sick and proclaiming the Good News throughout Galilee. His life reveals the harmony between deep communion with the Father and tireless service to others. Today we are invited to listen carefully to God’s voice in our lives and, like Christ, allow prayer to fuel our commitment to God’s saving work in the world. Copyright © 2023 My Catholic Life! Inc.
