It was a huge hit, reaching #1 in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Brazil and Denmark. In the coveted US market it reached #6, but over the course of their career, the Bee Gees are reportably the 3rd most successful band ever on the US Billboard charts. It’s quite a sad song, describing the plight of someone who has serious regrets about something they have may done or said, which resulted in alienating those around them. This emotion featured in a scene from the comedy movie Zoolander, where the song (covered by the Wallflowers) was used in the scene where Derek Zoolander is confused about winning an award that was not his. Other notable covers include Faith No More in 1995 and Robbie Williams in 1998, and dare I say, YOUR version that you are about to bust out in your bedroom once you learn how to play this tune!
