Should Christians be Vegan?

One more addition: some animals are suited to be eaten as food, others are not. I believe in the Old Testament the Bible clearly outlines what we ought to eat, and animals with no hooves (such as dogs, cats, monkeys) aren't part of what we should be eating. However, in times of severe hunger, those are no longer considered "unclean" because Jesus changed that under the New Testament teaching :). What does the Bible say about Veganism?
