Lord God, bless with your power our Advent wreath so that, as we light it, it may awaken in us the desire to await the coming of Christ by practicing good works, and so that, when He comes, we may be admitted into the Kingdom of Heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Hear, then, good Father, our prayers: bless us also as a community, give us your peace, your love, and your unity. Help us to overcome temptations. Do not let us fall into the sin that separates us from you. Rather, help us to prepare for the coming of your Son Jesus Christ, light of the world, so that he may illuminate our whole lives and guide us on the path of truth and goodness, He who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen. Fourth Sunday of Advent – Love: The last candle reminds us of God's infinite love manifested in Jesus. With it, we prepare to celebrate Christmas with hearts full of charity. (We light the fourth candle, the purple one on the Advent wreath) We sing: 🎵🎶Today a flame is lit, on the Advent wreath, may our hope burn, in our awakened hearts, and in the warmth of the Mother, let us walk through this season. Our longings grow as we see, the second flame born, like sweet dew will come, the Messiah made Child, Today a flame is lit, on the Advent wreath, may our hope burn, in our awakened hearts, and in the warmth of the Mother, let us walk through this season.🎵🎶 Let us ask the Lord to strengthen our faith in this season and raise our petitions with confidence.
