HAVE YOU EVER OBEYED THE TRUE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST? Rev Dr P.Mangte,ThD.PhD ABTS BIBLE COLLEGE Saturday Chapel Service FEBRUARY 8, 2025 #Undeestandingthe_True_Gospel_Of_Christ? 👉👉Obeying the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Obeying the Gospel is essential if we desire to spend eternity with our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Apostle Peter wrote: "Yet if anyone suffers.....For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” (1 Pet 4:16-18 ). Clearly, Peter is saying we all need to obey the Gospel of Jesus (Gal 1:8-9,Rom 6:3-5). 👉👉What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus that the Apostle Paul describes: "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, ........ For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor 15:1-4). 👉👉How do we Obey the Gospel? Thus far in this study we have learned what the Gospel is, and that we must obey it to spend eternity with Christ. So how do we do this? The good news is that Jesus physically, and literally died, was buried, and rose from the dead, but we only have to do this figuratively, or symbolically. This gospel is so simple to obey when you understand what happened the day of Pentecost, the day that the Church was born. The Apostle Peter, in Acts Chapter 2 preached the first sermon, including the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, to the crowd (Acts 2: 22-36) that had gathered after the Holy Ghost was first poured out on humanity (Acts 2:1-4). When he finished preaching this sermon the crowd's response was: ".... they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do" (Acts 2:37)? 👉And Peter responded: "Repent, be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38). 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 BAPTISM IN FATHER, THE SON, THE HOLY GHOST-OR- IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST????? Which of these were used by the Early Church? Biblical proofs that answer that question. 👉The Early Church obeyed the Gospel of Jesus by being Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and receiving gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38,Rom ,6:3,. Col 2:1-123:1-2). 👉1.THE CHURCH IN JERUSALEM- 3000 were baptized in Jesus Name after they had received the Word. Acts 2:41 👉2.THE CHURCH IN SAMERIA- Believed and were baptized in JESUS Name,Men and woman, Acts 8:12-16 👉3.THE CHURCH IN CAESAREA- Peter commanded them to get baptized in Jesus Name . Acts 10:48 👉4.THE CHURCH IN PHILIPPI- Lydia and the jailer get baptized in Jesus Name Acts 16:14-33. 👉5.THE CHURCH IN CORINTH- Paul preaches. They believed and were baptized in Jesus Name Acts 18:8-9. 👉6.THE CHURCH IN EPHESUS- Paul baptized them in Jesus name.. 12 disciples of John the Baptist who were NOT baptized according to the word. Acts 19:1-6. 👉47.THE CHURCH IN GALATIA- Believed Paul and were baptized into Christ. Gal. 3:27 👉8.THE CHURCH IN COLOSSAE- They were buried with Christ in Baptism Col. 2:12 👉9.THE CHURCH IN ROME- They died to sin, and were buried through baptism. Rom 6:1-4. 💥The Jews:.." Repent and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38) 💥The Samaritans:"....only they were baptized in the Name of the Lord JESU" (Acts 8:16). 💥The Gentiles : And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the LORD. (Acts 10:48) 💥The disciples of John: (Re-Baptized) When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the LORD Jesus. (Acts 19:5) 💥The Apostle Paul: And now why tarries thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. (Acts 22:16) 💥The Epistles also hold several references concerning Baptism in JESUS NAME see: Rom 6:3-4, I Cor 1.13, 6:11, Gal 3:27; Col 2:12. 👉Today, We are all responsible to obey this command. In fact, every single immersion Baptism in the NT Church was done exclusively in Jesus'name but never in the titles of Triune Formula Father Son and Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38,8:16,10:48,19:1-7, 22:16). 👉 When examining the evidence, it is clear that the early church baptized exclusively by calling on the name of Jesus.Eph 4:5 "One Lord, one faith, one Baptism". 👉Have you been Baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ "for the remission of sins and receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit "? If not, Obey Acts 2:38 today in Jesus Name and live forever!!!!! God bless you all! Rev Dr P.Mangte & Mrs Jenny Mangte.
