Special Olympics School Games Track and Field

Special Olympics School Games Track and Field is an event where students of all abilities get to participate together. The track and field events we participate in are 50 meter walk, 100 meter walk, 50 meter run, 100 meter run, javelin throw, long jump, softball throw, and relay. The athletes train for many weeks for the track meet. We prepare by learning to use proper form for sprinting, how to throw the javelin, use proper form when throwing a softball, and how to pass a baton for a relay race. All the time having FUN! All our, CCMS, athletes did an amazing job at Special Olympics- School Games-Track and Field. They all came home with many ribbons. Each athlete did an awesome job! They ran, jumped, and threw with all of their effort and strength. They made Christopher Columbus Middle School very proud!
