After defeat of Anglo-Nepal war, Nepal was forced to sign Sugauli Treaty in 1816 which caused Nepal to lose almost half of its territory. But in treaty border in the west seperated by River Kali (Mahakali at downstream) was not specified mainly at the the origin of source. After huge defeat of Sino-Indian war, india felt more importance of those territory as Chinese trop could easily enter india easily through lipulekh and limpmpiyadhura pass, so on permission from King Mahendra indian military were given permission to setup 18 checkpoint but after the war on negoitation of both country all checkpoints were removed except Kalapani. After several update and publish before 1879 either changing name of river or source in year 2019, india published new political map including all area and and inagurating road by india in those area so back then Nepal too published those area as there which they have not included before as those land were disputed. After publishing new map, tension raised between indian and nepali government raising the voice again about the dispute.
