A few things going on in this video: . . I did tap on the remote to correct him for his first initial “boofs”, which sound like a bark, but not really. Make sense? Lol . . He is also tethered to a door knob while on place. We will be proofing his place command through next week, but it never hurts to tether just in case. . . AND ... this is the big one ... . . I told Meg (my plant baby bringing friend) to ignore him. Or, she’s just amazing with dogs and already knew to do that. . . We don’t need to pressure Dexter. If she went over and tried to pet him, it would just amp him up. . . We waited until he was all nice and calm (still on place) and I brought him over to be closer to us (also on place). . . The beginning of this scenario is the most important. I was clear with Dexter from the beginning and corrected him for starting to bark at Meg. Letting him know that it was unacceptable to do that helped him calm down. I’ve got this, dude! . . And it will be the same for his owners 🥰
