Determined to stop him, they confront Victor at the wreckage. Arnaud faces the man who once destroyed his life, engaging him in a brutal duel while Amicia fights off the Count’s soldiers. In his final moments, Arnaud sacrifices himself, holding Victor long enough for Amicia to strike him down at last. But the victory comes too late. Believing Amicia dead, Hugo has surrendered himself to the Macula, unleashing a vast Nebula that allows the rats to spread unchecked across the land. With Marseille revealed as Hugo’s destination, Amicia, Lucas, and Sophia flee toward the city, racing against the encroaching swarm.
