Speaking in tongues is not the Holy Spirit but an evidence of the baptism, a gift from God. #tongues

Is speaking in tongues the Holy Spirit? No. Tongues are a prayer language the Lord gives—an evidence, not the Holy Spirit Himself. An evidence is a sign. And Jesus said, “These signs will follow those who believe…” (Mark 16:17). You can receive the Holy Spirit and not speak in tongues—often because the mind is still being renewed. But that doesn’t make the Spirit absent. There is nothing to fear. The Holy Spirit is God’s gift, not something strange or scary. When we speak in tongues, the Bible says we are speaking mysteries to God (1 Corinthians 14:2). It edifies the believer and strengthens the inner man. Don’t reject what God offers because you don’t yet understand it. Let your heart stay open. Let your mind be renewed. Let the Spirit lead. #HolySpirit #SpeakingInTongues #BaptismOfTheHolySpirit #ChristianTeaching #FaithTruth #WordAndSpirit #PrayerLife #ChristianGrowth #SoundDoctrine #BibleTruth #SpiritFilled
