Betadine Reaction With Vitamin C 🤯 This experiment demonstrates a chemical reaction between betadine (0.5% available iodine) and vitamin C. When betadine is poured into a solution of vitamin C (ascorbic acid), the betadine magically disappears. The titration of Vitamin C with an iodine solution (betadine [red colour]) results in a redox reaction where ascorbic acid is oxidized to dehydroascorbic acid, and iodine is reduced to iodide (colourless). The overall balanced chemical equation is: C6H8O6 + I2 → C6H6O6 + 2I- + 2H+. #shorts #experiment #experimentshorts
