Mount Olive Baptist Church in Delray Beach, Florida, stands as a testament to resilience, faith, and community. Founded in 1896 by Pastor N.B. Williams, it is one of the oldest Black Baptist churches in the area, deeply rooted in the historic West Settlers district. Despite the devastation of its original 200-seat sanctuary by the 1928 hurricane, the congregation rebuilt with unwavering determination, constructing a 400-seat worship space in 1929. Over the years, the church has expanded its mission, adding a $1.2 million, 50,000-square-foot facility to serve as offices, a daycare, a senior center, and a Christian school, all under the steadfast leadership of Pastor Lenard C. Johnson since 1982.
