Separate Ways is just a DLC, an addendum to Resident Evil 4, showing us the other half of Ada’s story. In many cases it serves as a tease for future instalments more than anything and it’s mostly to the story’s detriment, alongside the fact that, much like Resident Evil 3 Remake before it, Separate Ways is focused heavily on showing moments from another story in a new light. Ada herself as a character is still compelling, a mystery wrapped in an enigma so to speak, and the DLC doesn’t remove what makes her compelling whilst also giving us a little bit of a deeper look into her motivations and personality. Whilst I don’t think Lily Gao did as good of a job as Jolene Andersen in RE2, her performance of Ada shows her internal fight between professionalism and humanity in a rather subtle way that I can appreciate compared to her performance in the main game. Overall, it serves as a perfect cap for my experience of Resident Evil 4, even if it ends on the note of trying to get me to play RE5. #reviews #capcom #residentevil #residentevil4remake #residentevil4 #residentevil4separateways #leonkennedy #videogame #horror #horrorgame #thirdperson #thirdpersonshooter #ashleygraham #adawong
