wow. WOW. I've been working on this on and off since last year, and I'm so excited to finally share it with you all! This is the first time I've edited Avatar in YEARS, and it's for a good reason that I'm back... today, July 19th 2018, is the 10th anniversary of the finale! I cannot believe it has been TEN YEARS since the finale of this beautiful, moving, amazing show aired. I can remember that day, and the days and weeks that led up to it, like they were yesterday. I loved this show SO MUCH back then, it felt like my whole world at the time. And I love it just as much, if not more, now that I'm older. This is absolutely my favorite show in the universe, animated or not, bar none. It has amazing storytelling, beautiful characters and relationships, meaningful messages and storylines, a gorgeous soundtrack... it's really got it all. I have loved this show for so long, and I've been rewatching it every summer now for the past couple years, and it only felt fitting that I should make a video celebrating the 10 year anniversary of its ending. To me, Avatar is all about hope, friendship, and love, and that's what this song made me think of and what I tried to make come across in this video. It's all there in the song, in the repeating lyrics with the same message but with a different sound and mood every time - the refusal to give up or lose hope or forget who you are even when it's hard; the love you have for your friends, your family, your people, your world, that gets you through every hardship and every journey; doing the right thing and following your heart no matter what; forgiveness and redemption and hope for a better future; this all exemplifies what this show means to me, and these are the feelings that I've tried to recreate here. I hope I was successful. Thank you, Avatar, for being such a beautiful, perfect constant in my life. Thank you Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, Iroh, and all the rest, for teaching me lifelong lessons that I'll never forget.
