Modi ji introduced the Agniveer Scheme, but didn’t really explain how to join it. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Under the Agniveer scheme, you can join the Army, Navy, or Air Force for 4 years, and the education requirement depends on the post. For some Army posts, 10th pass candidates are eligible. But for the Navy and Air Force, you usually need to have passed 12th with Science. After applying, you’ll have to appear for an exam — Army has the Common Entrance Exam, Navy conducts INET, and the Air Force has a written test. Once you clear that, you’ll go through physical and medical tests. After selection, you’ll get around 6 months of training, followed by posting — where you’ll serve for 4 years. Your monthly salary starts at around ₹30,000 and increases to ₹40,000 by the fourth year. After 4 years, about 75% of Agniveers receive a Seva Nidhi package worth ₹10–12 lakh, along with other benefits. The remaining 25% are selected for permanent service.
