The wood top is kind of rough, but a tablecloth might fix that. Otherwise it's extremely comfortable and looks good. It's small enough to fit my tiny apartment and not look cramped. Assembly is required in putting everything together. You'll need a Phillips head screwdriver to fix the cushions to the chairs. Note of warning, the box that the set came packaged in was incredibly heavy so it would be a good idea to ask for the delivery company to leave it at your doorstep and not an apartment leasing office (like with me). I had to open the packaging and carry the pieces up individually since the box itself was too heavy to move..
