I found this panda-faced mechanical chronograph with a silver bracelet and sky blue color on the internet and I can't help but be curious about it. It's a Swiss watch and it's apparently a brand called Bucherer. I heard that it was available at the watch gallery on the 6th floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, so I went to check it out.   I'll ask Mr. Takeshita, the manager of Shellman Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, for more details. Bucherer is officially called Carl F. Bucherer, and is a long-established watch brand founded in 1888 by the Bucherer family in Lucerne, Switzerland, and is run by the family.   The watch I was interested in is one of the Heritage Bicompax Annual series, and is a reproduction model inspired by vintage watches from the 1950s and has been evolved to have high specs.   Bicompax... I just can't get enough of that sound.   The sky blue color of the Heritage Bicompax Annual Lucerne was inspired by the body color of a vintage Lincoln owned by the Bucherer family. I was really drawn to the old American blue second eye and the fine metal band, even though it's a Swiss mechanical watch! You can also change it to the included leather strap. It's somehow nostalgic and new. The price is 1,045,000 yen (tax included) and there are only 188 pieces. It's not an amount that you can easily afford, but shopping is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's also nice that there are only 188 pieces left since the company was founded in 1888. And then, the new Bucherer Tokyo Groove enveloped me. It's the Heritage Bicompax Annual Hometown Tokyo, with a peppermint green dial with a gradient that seems to be inspired by cream soda and a fine metal bracelet. It was a fateful encounter that was just announced worldwide on March 30th at the Hometown Collection in 16 cities in 9 countries around the world. The design is unified, and different colors were released simultaneously in Paris, London, New York, etc. The green is said to be inspired by the green of Tokyo, not cream soda. It's true that Tokyo is a city with a surprising amount of greenery.   The innovative green color is old American yet Showa-era. The back glass is decorated with the Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, Sensoji Temple, Mt. Fuji, and Skytree, symbols of Tokyo. You can also feel the green of the bridges on the Sumida River, and as an Edokko (old Edokko), this is the perfect hometown edition for me, and it would go well with both suits and casual wear. You can easily change it to the perforated leather strap that comes with it.   The price is 1,045,000 yen (tax included) and there are only 88 pieces available. I can't decide between sky blue or peppermint green. In that case, take a look at other Bicompax watches to cool down.   18K rose gold with a brown leather strap, a simple silver panda, or a black reverse panda are all good.   The answer is in sight.
