DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin - Majula to Cardinal Tower bonfire, Forest of Fallen Giants

When you are starting a new game of Dark Souls 2, you can speed up the process a bit by not killing enemies on the way to the first couple of bonfires in Forest of Fallen Giants. It is important to run as often as possible, but watch your stamina. Also, use rolling and jumping to dodge as you are invulnerable during the animations. Once you have lit the Cardinal Tower bonfire, you can collect items and if you die you will be at a good starting location to head back and retrieve your souls (bloodstain). Note, that in this video, an enemy followed me into the bonfire room, so after lighting the bonfire, that enemy needs to be killed, but if for some reason you die, you'll revive at the bonfire.
