Bucovina ~ Female Golden Eagle Delivers A Red Fox & Stuffs Zenit! Full Crop Satisfaction! 💕 7.15.21

Mom flies in to the nest with half of a red fox (Vulpes vulpes) and Zenit is there with an impressive mantle to claim it! Mom takes off and Zenit does some self feeding but h/she discovers the fox remains are tough to pull with the pelt and bones. After working on it for 50 minutes, Mom returns and takes over and feeds Zenit! It is another long feeding with Mom pulling all the meat, skin & fur off the bones and Zenit's crop grows substantially! Very good feeding by Mom! Zenit eats the mostly fur plucked tail and tries to swallow a bone but spits it out, Mom picks up the bone and she could not get it down either and spits it out....but will save it for later. Zenit yells the entire time of the hour long feeding and finally stops when Mom leaves and flies off the nest. :) ♥ Zenit is seen standing with a huge crop and must feel quite satiated! The Wild Bucovina Association is a non government and non profit organization that has set up a new webcam recently to observe a rare pair of golden eagles raise their chick. This pair has been observed locally for the past 6 years. Setting up the cam has spooked the male and he had not been back to the nest. On 6/13/21 the male returned to the nest with prey for the first time since the cam installation.The female is hunting and taking care of their chick.The male has been seen and photographed flying with the female close to the nest and is also hunting for the family.
