Day 3 | Novena to OUR LADY OF PIAT | Our Lady of the Visitation

May this novena guide help you in your devotion to Our Lady of Piat, also known as Our Lady of the Visitation. The Dominican missionaries who arrived in Piat, Cagayan Valley, encountered a place of warring tribes. The image of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, which they brought from Macau, became their instrument of uniting the tribes. In 1623, a shrine was built outside of Piat, where the image of the Virgin was officially installed. On July 2, 1737, the roof of the shrine collapsed, but a child, who was right under the falling debris, we found alive and safe. Miracles and other wonders were attributed to the image of the Virgin. The statue was canonically crowned in 1954 as the Patroness of Cagayan Valley. Source: www.stpauls.ph
