First Reading: Romans 2:1-11 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 62:2-3, 6-7, 9 Alleluia: John 10:27 Gospel: Luke 11:42-46 In today’s gospel reading, Jesus continues his critique of the Pharisees. At the end of the passage, he turns His attention to the scribes or lawyers. Jesus rebukes them for interpreting the Law in ways that make it unbearable and burdensome on the people. And yet, like the Pharisees, they do not practice what they preach. Jesus knows how these religious leaders have behaved themselves ⏤ seeking glory and honor for themselves while imposing mindless laws on the people. Jesus, on the other hand, invites the people, and us, to a life-giving relationship with God to whom we can unburden ourselves completely. This is the 554th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
