RCB usually turns up in this special jersey in the afternoon game at home M.Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru sometimes here and there the Faf du Plessis-led side has to adjust to the schedule. Bengaluru-based franchise's record hasn't been eye-catching this initiative day to raise awareness about planting more trees and reducing the effect of global warming. They have played 13 winning only 4 losing 8 and a game with no result. Adding insult to injury RCB have been a fish out of water this season too. They haven't been able to find an ideal combination and have faltered to languish at the bottom of the points table with only one win from 7 matches. Heading to this clash the RCB have lost 5 on the bounce and the most recent defeat was against Hyderabad (SRH). RCB bowlers were taken to the cleaners with Head putting on a show scoring 102 off just 41 balls. Apart from Head there were splendid contributions from Abhishek Klaasen Markram and a late burst from Abdul Samad to completely decimate a toothless bowling attack of the Red Devils posting the highest-ever IPL total of 287/3. Apart from the RCB debutant Lockie Ferguson who despite being hit for 52 in his 4 overs picked up 2 big wickets of the centurion and Klaasen the rest of the bowlers were taken to the journey. The fact that four of the bowlers leaked runs in excess of 50 summed up the 'Tournament' for the du Plessis-led side. Chasing 288 the only thing you can do is to go at each and every ball. Virat Kohli and the skipper set a solid foundation but you know what? There are only 3 batters in RCB who are doing nearly the whole job. Two of them are VK Faf and the third one is the veteran Karthik. Plessis fell after a 28-ball 62 and the lacklustre middle order crumbled yet again to see the Bengaluru-based franchise rely 122/5. DK came up another spirited display 83 off 35 balls to take the team closer to scripting history as RCB ended up on 262/7 losing by only 25 runs. On the other hand KKR have had a cracking tournament with Gambhir showing his clever moves behind the scenes. They have played 6 matches winning four losing 2 and have 8 points standing top half of the table. The two-time IPL winners had a sizzling start league winning a hat-trick matches before being trapped in the fortress of Chepauk (CSK). The Kolkata-based franchise did well to get back to the winning track bashing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) but made a mess of a game that they almost won against Rajasthan Royals (RR) coming into this fixture. Put into bat first KKR amassed a massive total of 223/6 with Sunil Narine hammering his maiden T20 hundred hitting 109 off just 56 balls. Angkrish Raghuvanshi a young right-handed batter at number 3 supported Narine before the likes of Andre Russell and Rinku Singh chipped in with handy cameos. Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana got hold of the strong RR top four with Yashasvi Jaiswal Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag hitting a few big shots before getting dismissed. The run-scoring was always on a high despite Jos Buttler struggling with timing and a knee issue. Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy made things difficult for the Royals but Buttler had a great self-belief to make the able bowling line-up of KKR look like a thin piece of thread taking his side home with the joint highest successful run-chase.
