#infection #blurryvision A viral corneal ulcer is a clean branched ulcer on the cornea, mostly due to Herpes Simplex Virus, less commonly due to Herpes Zoster Virus. It presents with discomfort and blurring of vision. If treated early it may leave a minor scar or opacity. If treated late and gets superadded bacterial infection, then it will leave a big scar and great loss of vision. This type of infection can be prevented by avoiding contamination to the eyes from a patient having herpes viral infection of the eye or genital tract.
