Electric fences are no joke! They are in place to keep the cows safe and us safe too! Many people don't know that certain cows will keep checking an electric fence to see if it is on or not and this creates a cow that is 'fence trained' or other tetms depending on where the farm is located. New fences require a cow to be 'trained' on the new wires and some people think it is cruel to have a cow lick a fence when in reality the cow licks the fence anyway.
