I Tried Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) a Cow for the First Time 🐄

In this video, I’m sewing and joining the templates for the Cow Abstractions quilt by Violet Craft ‪@violetcraftdesignstudio‬ . I'm taking you along for the next big step in my first foundation paper piecing (FPP) quilt. 🐄✨ I start by working through my pre-batched templates, sewing each section together one by one and following the pattern’s construction order. Along the way, I share how I use pins, Clover Wonder Clips, and basting stitches to get accurate points and reduce mistakes—plus a helpful tip using a wool pressing mat to line up tricky corners. After a mammoth sewing effort, it’s time to combine all the sections and finally see Florian the Fresian cow come to life. Watching the face, nose, and other details come together is incredibly satisfying, and I’m so pleased with how this quilt top has turned out - especially considering it’s my very first FPP project!
