In this video you will learn what is an invariant point and how you work it out. An invariant point is a point on a shape which doesn’t change position after a transformation has been applied to the shape. In example 1 you need to find the invariant point if a triangle with corners (2,1), (3,4) and (5,2) is reflected in the mirror line x=2. It’s probably best that you carry out the reflection and then you will be able to see which of the 3 points is still in the same position. The point which remains in the same position is (2,1) which is the point on the mirror line x=2. So (2,1) is the invariant point.
