James Walton - Organist This chorale prelude by Bach is a setting of "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland", or "Savior of the Nations come". An obbligato bass in the pedals accompanies three voices in the hands. In the left hand, the alto and tenor voices are in canon at the fifth on a variation of the chorale theme. The fourth voice comes and goes on a second manual, with a highly ornamented version of the theme, usually played by a cornet or reed with a tremolo. Recorded for my undergraduate auditions on January 21st, 2021 on the Rosales Organ at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon. This recording is copyrighted by James Walton.
