In this video, I have shared a basic chocolate cake recipe which is not only easy to make, but also healthy and low in calories. Most chocolate cake recipes are high in butter and sugar. The recipe shown in this video has no maida, no butter, and has reduced sugar. Yet, it's incredibly soft, spongy and moist. No one will believe that it's made with all healthy ingredients. I have also used strong coffee / coffee decoction in this recipe. A must include secret ingredient. The addition of coffee enhances the chocolate flavour making the cake taste rich chocolatey. I have used fresh coffee decoction in this recipe. You can use instant coffee powder too. Make sure to dissolve the instant coffee powder in hot water before adding to the cake batter. Another secret Ingredient...corn flour. I love what corn flour does to baked cakes. Corn flour tenderises cakes, especially those prepared with whole wheat flour, making this chocolate cake light, but doesn't make the cake too crumbly. Win Win!!! This cake works well without eggs too. Just that the cake might end up a little dense than normal. You can also go for plain flour / maida for an eggless version. An easy chocolate cake recipe that you should have in your recipe book. Ideal as a birthday or special occasion treat for your loved ones who watch their calories and are on restrictive diet. You can indulge in homemade chocolate cake whenever your heart desires!!! Serve with a chocolate syrup topping and some fresh berries. Yum! Its heavenly with some ice cream as well.
