SBCoFD Traffic Collision with Extrication Division 3 #Victorville

#Local935 Firefighters with #SBCoFD responded on June 18th to a traffic collision with extrication on Interstate 15, north of #Victorville. On this incident Fire/#SBCOSheriff Air Rescue 6 responded and was the first SBCoFD unit on scene to provide scene stabilization and Advanced Life Support before ground resources could arrive. This incident demonstrates the success of this trial program and the benefit #SanBernardinoCounty residents and visitors have while traveling on our long un-funded and understaffed interstate 15 and 40 freeways. This creative program and service solution to these unfunded areas brings rapid command and control as well as advanced life support paramedic care and extrication in many situations faster than ground response resources. With the ability to auto-launch upon initial receipt of certain call types and locations the time of the incident to advanced life support and trauma center arrival has been significantly improved. Since Air Rescue 6 is logged on and is dispatched by our local communications center they can quickly add to any incident that would benefit from this unique asset. This particular incident had a total time of 44 minutes from when the call was received to the time the patient reached a trauma center.
