They uncover the sinister experiments of the Umbrella Corporation, the pharmaceutical company responsible for the T-virus outbreak and a new, even more dangerous G-virus. As they fight for survival and search for a way out of the city, Leon meets the enigmatic Ada Wong, while Claire befriends a young girl named Sherry Birkin, who is being hunted for the G-virus created by her father, Umbrella scientist William Birkin. The protagonists face mutated monsters, including the relentless Tyrant sent by Umbrella, and ultimately confront William Birkin himself, who has injected himself with the G-virus. In their separate paths, Leon and Claire learn the horrifying truth behind Umbrella's bio-weapons and their devastating consequences for Raccoon City. They eventually reunite and escape the doomed city with Sherry before it is destroyed. Leon vows to take down Umbrella, while Claire continues her search for Chris.
