Forgettable NBA Moment No. 189: Game 5 of an Atlantic division playoff showdown, with a soon-to-be rambunctious TD Garden crowd approaching the end of the third quarter. Paul Pierce draws two just inside the arc, and kicks it to Rajon Rondo after leaving his feet and missing Greg Stiemsma on the split-line dive. Rondo dribbles to the nail and evades the clutches of Thaddeus Young by going behind his back, but loses his footing after their legs are entangled. He somehow flicks the perfectly placed bounce pass to Stiemsma (waiting in the dunker’s spot) with his outside hand on the way down to being parallel with the floor. Lavoy Allen commits too far at the top of the charge circle, allowing Greg to gain control of the ball at his knees and gather for the easy flush (with two hands for safety). The broadcast then cuts to Marquis Daniels, Keyon Dooling and Ryan Hollins hitting the same celebration on their teammate’s behalf. Stiemsma recorded 6 blocks in his NBA Debut for the Celtics in 2011, which to this day ranks second highest ever behind Shawn Bradley (8) for most blocks in a debut showing.
