The Occupy Wall Street movement
Several hundred activists have taken to New York's financial district to mark the one- year anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Threats to disrupt the morning commute - were prevented by an at times - over-bearing yet effective display of crowd-control by the New York Police Department. Organisers say their movement, which grew as a response to broad economic inequality, has managed to change the conversation in the US and around the world.
