Reviewing the Abu Garcia Revo X baitcasting reel in 6.3:1 gear ratio, left hand. My first ever baitcasting reel was an Abu (UltraMax - DSG rebranded BlackMax) which I found to be a overall great starter reel and reliable product. Therefore, I wanted to try something a little higher up in Abu Garcia's line up - the Revo X, so far so good! Biggest pro's would be casts heavier baits well, very smooth retrieve, nice knobs and handle, aluminum frame. Cons would be same MagTrax braking as lower end models and challenging to throw lighter lures. Bonus footage - quick how-to ln Texas rigging a soft plastic bait, using a Zoom Speed Craw (big fan of Zoom soft plastics for their durability).
